Located at the southern tip of the Baja Pennisula, Los Cabos is an exciting destination for Sun, Relaxation, and Water Sports. Three luxury resorts along the coast offer something a little different for dicerning travelers: One & Only Palmilla, Las Ventanas, and Esperanza. All offer exclusivity, privacy and will ensure that each guest has a memorable experience.

One and Only Palmilla is a sprawling resort that feels like a desert oasis. Guests are greeted by golf cart and escorted to their Casa, or home away from home, where they are meet the Butler. The three restaurants on the property cater to all kinds of special requests and the food is always exceptional. There is an extremely high staff to guest ratio, one will have just the right amount of attention. One & Only has the only swim able beach.

One and Only Palmilla

Las Ventanas is very romantic. The resort prides itself on discretion and privacy. Upon arrival, guests meet their personal concierge who will be their point of contact for every request through-out their stay. The concierge team at Las Ventanas will research all guests’ needs and preferences and prepare each suite to perfection – down to the selection for the extensive sheets menu. The entire staff of the resort has a primary goal to make dreams come true. The beach front suites are right on the sand and have a private pool and an outdoor shower.

Esperanza, named for the Spanish word for Hope, is a very peaceful resort. A visit to the spa is like stepping into another world. Guests can spend an entire day inside the spa, indulging in various treatments and relaxing in the common area. The Restaurant, situated on a cliff offers a memorable dining experience and during the early spring months, whale sightings are common.  Some suites have a balcony Jacuzzi. Nightly beach activities are popular for girlfriends getaways or single travelers.

Today’s Edition of A&K Extreme Adventures

Taking advantage of  today’s perfect high 60s weather was Abercrombie & Kent, who did an  interactive presentation of the A&K Extreme Adventures at Rockefeller Center’s North Plaza from 7AM until 5PM.

For this specific event,  Abercrombie and Kent partnered with Tumi T-Tech Luggage and the Kenya Tourist Board.  The Plaza was transformed into experiential three zones created specifically to introduce New Yorkers to the variety of Extreme Adventures from A&K.  Three specific Extreme Adventures trips were highlighted today:  Extreme Safari in Kenya, To The Edges of the Earth, and Mountain Trekking up Kilimanjaro.

The midtown crowds were welcomed by the incredible sight of a pack camel and the sound of beating drums of the bright red costumed Maasai dancers. If the exciting presentation didn’t pull them into the interactive zones, expert Kenyan guide and adventurer, Toby, did the job.  Toby Fenwick-Wilson’s high energy attracted the visitors and he graciously regaled the Rockefeller visitors with stories of his adventures and the beauty of Kenya – his home.  Toby was especially excited to share the story of his solo 350-mile walk through the deserts of Northern Kenya.

Moving forward to visit the Norwegian Huskies, I ran into a dear friend of Linden Travel, Shawn Johnson, the Director of Sales for A&K Northeast Division, who introduced me to Peter Boese, a true thrill seeker and the Sr. VP of Extreme Adventures.  Peter was as entertaining as he was adventurous; Peter told me tales of 18 foot crocodiles in the African water, and of the incredible accuracy and expertise of his guides.  The A&K guides can predict the movements and behavior of the animals as well as the crocs, lions, and hippos themselves.

By the time I reached the Kilimanjaro zone, the wealth of information I received as well as Peter and Toby’s excitement about the A&K Extreme Adventures division inspired me enough to start dreaming about an African trip through Kenyan’s uncharted frontiers with desert wind in my hair and the faint humming of Maasai drums in the background.
